Scope and information
Axe provides research, analysis, document work, and reusable Agents. This notice covers accounts, service use, access requests, and support. The Office add in links a document to its web Task. Customer agreements govern personal data processed on an organisation's instructions.
We process account and contact details, authentication and security records, instructions, submitted files, retrieved sources, messages, outputs, and service activity. Usage, payment references, error categories, timestamps, and device or host information support operation and billing. Public sources can contain personal information. Support correspondence includes what you choose to send us.
Delivering your work
We use information to verify identity, carry out your requests, retain Task history and files, account for usage and purchases, provide support, investigate failures, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Relevant instructions, documents, images, and research results may be processed by AI providers to generate responses to your requests.
We do not use customer content to train models. Generating responses and the internal evaluation described below are separate from model training. Service providers handle information according to the terms and retention policies applicable to their services.
Internal evaluation and your choice
Private internal evaluation is enabled by default where permitted by the applicable notice and agreement. Selected customer work may be used to assess and improve the accuracy and reliability of Axe. A stricter contract or an opt out takes precedence. Older content is used only where the applicable permissions allow it.
Your organisation owner can opt out in Evaluation settings. Members can view the setting and request help at privacy@withaxe.ai. Opting out does not change ordinary product access or prices. It prevents further evaluation use and starts cleanup of retained evaluation copies, without deleting your ordinary Tasks.
Evaluation may include human review by people specifically authorised for that organisation and purpose. Evaluation copies stay private and are not published or used in another customer's work. Opting out applies to further evaluation use. Information already processed by a provider remains subject to the applicable processing and retention terms.
Service providers and locations
We use service providers for hosting, storage, AI processing, analytics, communications, and payments. They process information needed for their role. Our providers include:
- Cloud and service infrastructure: Vercel, Render, Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare, and Temporal Cloud.
- AI and computing services: OpenAI and E2B.
- Product analytics and optional session replay: PostHog.
- Email and business communications: Resend and Google Workspace.
- Payments: Stripe. Payment card details are entered directly on Stripe's Checkout page; Axe retains purchase references and payment status.
Information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Contact privacy@withaxe.ai for provider information and processing arrangements, including any location requirements for your organisation.
Microsoft processes use of its Office products under its own terms. When your work involves public research, external sites receive the searches and requests needed to carry it out. Those sites operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Analytics, support, and access
We use product analytics to understand feature use and improve the service. Product analytics exclude document content, filenames, prompts, email addresses, and raw error messages. Optional session replay masks text and inputs and excludes sign in and remote browser screens. Service and security records are processed separately to operate and protect Axe.
Organisation membership and billing administration do not grant owners access to another member's private Tasks. Support and operational access are limited to authorised purposes. Do not email confidential files, passwords, recovery codes, or payment card details. We do not sell personal information or use access request details for unrelated marketing.
Retention and deletion
Retention depends on the type of information, its purpose, your agreement, and applicable legal obligations. Billing and security records, backups, and provider copies may have separate retention periods.
You can request an export or deletion through Data controls or contact privacy@withaxe.ai. Requests are subject to identity verification and applicable retention obligations. Request status explains the outcome and any records retained. You control copies downloaded to your own systems.
Your rights and updates
Contact privacy@withaxe.ai to request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity or refer a request about an organisation's content to that organisation. Applicable legal requirements and stricter agreements remain in force.
Material changes require the applicable notice and authority before changed use begins. Updating this page does not retroactively expand rights over previously collected information. See our security information, terms of use, and support routes.
