2Hotel openings and center expansions

We track every hotel and center project in the set with a first promised date in a public document. River city's connected hotel opened in September as promised. Plains city's center expansion and Harbor city's new hotel have both slipped, which pushes new capacity at two competitors later into 2027.2

4What to watch in the fourth quarter

Site selection votes at three associations that hold board meetings in November, the opening date confirmation for Lake city's convention hotel, and whether Plains city's expansion financing closes before the year ends.

How this monitor is built

  • A citywide booking is a future event with a peak night of at least 1,500 hotel rooms, counted when the destination or the association announces it
  • Promised dates are the first dates given in a financing document, permit or public announcement, and are never revised
  • Every booking and project traces to a calendar entry, announcement, permit or filing held on file for subscribers who ask
