Contact center seats get dearer as AI moves into the base bundle

Four of the six contact center vendors we price raised the cost of our standard workload in the third quarter. Cloud calling held flat for a second quarter

1Contact center workload cost

We price one standard contact center workload at every vendor each quarter: 250 agents, voice and digital channels, recording, workforce management and a three year term. In the third quarter four of the six vendors charged more for it than in the second, and none charged less.1

2Bundle and billing changes in the quarter

Most of the increase came from bundling rather than higher list prices. Two vendors folded AI features that were sold separately a year ago into the base tier, so every buyer now pays for them whether or not they are used. One more vendor has announced the same move for January.2

3Against our Outcomes Study

4What to watch in the fourth quarter

Whether Collaboration platform D keeps its AI assistant as an add on when it takes effect in January, how renewal discounts respond at the two bundling vendors, and whether cloud calling list prices finally move after six flat quarters at most vendors.

How this watch is built

  • Each vendor is priced on two fixed workloads, a 250 agent contact center and a 500 user cloud calling deployment
  • Costs use published list prices and order form terms before negotiated discounts, spread evenly over a three year term
  • Every price traces to a dated price list, plan page or filing held on file for subscribers who ask

Approved for subscribersDana WhitcombePrincipal Analyst, Contact Center · 9 October 2026

1 The contact center workload assumes 250 named agents, 2,000 inbound minutes per agent per month and one supervisor for every 12 agents.

2 Bundled means included in the lowest tier that meets the workload. Features sold only in higher tiers are counted as add ons.
