Billing and credits

Axe charges credits for the work it does. Each monthly plan includes a credit allowance. Pricing shows the plans, included credits and typical use for common work.

Your trial and monthly plan

Eligible new accounts receive 5,000 credits for 14 days, including access to Agents. Choose a plan in Account, under Billing, and add a card through Stripe. Your selected monthly plan starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first.

Using all your trial credits pauses new work. It does not start billing early. To continue sooner, an organisation owner can choose Start paid plan now in Billing. Confirming charges a full month at the selected plan price, plus applicable tax, ends the trial and replaces any unused trial credits with the monthly allowance.

Monthly credits reset on your billing date. Unused monthly credits expire. Owners can change an active plan for the next renewal, with no immediate charge. To cancel, choose Cancel subscription in Billing and confirm the end date. Cancellation stops renewal and removes any scheduled plan change; the current allowance remains available until its expiry. Existing unpaid invoices remain due. Choose Manage cards and invoices to open the billing portal.

What uses credits

A run uses credits for model processing, web searches and time spent in Axe's secure workspace running tools for the task. The secure workspace is an isolated computer Axe uses to run tools for your task, such as processing files. The rates are on the rate card in Account, under Billing, which you can read before you buy.

Reading delivered research and files never uses credits.

How a run is charged

Every run has a ceiling: the most credits it can use. Before a run starts, Axe reserves credits up to that ceiling, so no single run can exceed it. When the run finishes, you are charged for the usage it recorded and any unused reservation is released. The rate card also states how canceled, failed and expired work is charged.

Your credit history lists purchases, allowances, reservations, charges, releases and expired credits.

Buying credits

Organisation owners can buy 1,500 credits for $50, plus applicable tax, in Billing. Each top up requires your approval. Top up credits never expire and are used after your plan allowance. Credits become available after Stripe confirms payment.

An eligible trial, a paid plan or a successful credit purchase unlocks Agents, including Teach and Test. Reading your completed work remains free.
